This is a very close list, but the CHGeek Bluetooth car transmitter takes the top spot in this list.

Although similar to some of the others on our list with similar features, the winning factor of this device is by far, the price. It beats the rest hands down for the number of features for your money.

It allows you to charge two devices at the same time, with one being fast charged through the QC3.0 whilst being able to charge in a normal capacity with the 5V/1A port. On top of the device is a clear digital display.

Furthermore, it will allow you to give voice commands to control your music or access maps from your phone as well as being compatible with the use of Siri and Google assistant.

The CHGeek uses Bluetooth 5.0 to guarantee clear sound quality and very little disruption which is a common issue for lesser FM transmitters.

Having the Bluetooth 5.0 upgrade, you will not struggle to get a smooth connection between your device and the transmitter, this has been well represented through various buyer reviews.

It is compatible with both Android and iOS devices, as well as giving you the option to use a USB flash drive.

The UNBREAKcable transmitter is an extremely close runner up to our top pick, the CHGeek. The transmitter misses out on our top spot on the simple fact that it skips into a slightly higher price bracket. The UNBREAKcable carries a similar Bluetooth 5.0 setup, allowing for a smooth, high-quality connection to your device.

The transmitter is capable of charging two devices simultaneously, similar to our top pick. It has a fast-charging QC3.0 port, as well as a PD3.0 port, both are capable of fast-charging, however only one can be used in that capacity at a time.

Similar to the CHGeek, the UNBREAKcable has voice control capability, with an inbuilt microphone. The transmitter can also make use of Siri and Google Assistant as the press of a button, as well as voice texting.

Unlike the CHGeek, the UNBREAKcable comes with three ports, two QC3.0 ports and one PD3.0, so you have the capability of plugging in more devices.

The inbuilt microphone has CVC noise suppression technology, allowing you to make clear calls without the risk of peripheral noise leaking into your conversation.

Considerations for When Choosing a Bluetooth Transmitter

Version of Bluetooth Chip

When choosing the appropriate transmitter you must consider what version of chip you are looking for.

Bluetooth chips have been upgraded over the years, meaning that you can sometimes get a chip which works well, but not as well as the latest and most up to date version. In our list, we have transmitters with either 4.2 or 5.0 chips.

The new 5.0 Bluetooth chip is a big leap with regards to Bluetooth technology. It has 4 times the reach of the previous 4.2 chip as well as being twice as fast. This looks good on paper, but what difference does it make to you?

Well, it turns out that having a 5.0 chip in your transmitter won’t give you the full range of benefits if you do not have a Bluetooth 5.0 enabled device to use it with.

To make use of the 5.0 chip to its full potential, BOTH devices need to have the 5.0 chip to be used effectively, this is where the 4.2 chip comes in.

A majority of the devices we have these days will be working off a 4.2 chip, meaning that a transmitter will be compatible with more devices overall if it has this version of the chip. If you have a device that has a 5.0 chip, then getting a transmitter with a 5.0 chip makes sense, however, if you are working off a device which has the slightly older 4.2 chip, it may make more sense to choose a transmitter with this version.

Fast-Charging Capability

Most of us when buying a transmitter like the idea of being able to charge our devices as well as using the primary Bluetooth function.

In the devices we have listed above there are charging options with all of them, but there are some differences in the speed in which they charge.

The big one is the option of fast-charging. In today’s modern era of mobile devices, we can use fast-charging to top our devices up to 100% battery in a very short period. QC3.0 allows us to do this.

QC3.0 is the latest update on the fast-charging circuit, allowing us to charge our devices at a rapid rate of knots, there are some drawbacks with this though.

If you are using a QC2.0 cable, with a QC3.0 transmitter, you have to bear in mind that you will only be charging your device at QC2.0 capacity, slower than you wanted. Be wary when using a QC3.0 device and cable with a QC2.0 transmitter, you run the risk of the device drawing more power than the transmitter can handle. This can potentially lead to your transmitter cutting out on you or overheating to the point in which the damage is irreparable.

Make sure you are using the appropriate device and cable for your needs to preserve the lifespan of your transmitter.

You may also consider, do you want a fast-charging transmitter?

Should you not wish for this feature, there are many transmitters on our list that would suit your needs, should you not need this as one of your requirements. The standard USB charging speed is perfectly fine for those who do not have a device compatible with fast charging, or who are simply not interested in this type of feature.

For those not wanting this option, it could save you money on your purchase should you choose not to go with this feature.

Summary

The winning transmitters on this list are the CHGeek and the UNBREAKcable, however, this was a very close contest and the choice is ultimately down to you.

All of the transmitters on this list have excellent features to suit your needs, depending on what you want. If you are looking for a superb all-round, Bluetooth 5.0 ready transmitter, then you really can’t go wrong with the CHGeek.

If it’s a transmitter on a budget you are looking for, then the FirstE comes with all the features you could want, for a fraction of the price.

If you are looking for a colourful, feature-packed option, then the VicTsing could be the ideal choice for you.
